Recently I bought about 200lbs of beef from Morris Grassfed. It filled my freezer and I even had to put about 40lbs of ground beef in my parents spare freezer. It’s a lot of meat. I did it because I want quality 100% grass-fed beef and buying it in bulk gave me a break on the price per pound. Anyway, I had all this meat but no grill! I usually cook up burgers on the cooktop in a skillet and do the roasts in the oven. With this meat I wanted to do it right, so I went out and bought a BBQ. An Oklahoma Joe’s Longhorn Combo Grill. It’s got a section that is a gas grill, a section that’s a charcoal grill and a side smoker. It’s a 220lb grillin’ machine! I love it! I haven’t used it yet, since I only picked it up and assembled it yesterday. But, it looks awesome and I know it’s going to cook up some great meals!
This was my first “real” grill that I’ve owned so I decided to make a time-lapsed video if me putting it together. The Oklahoma Joe’s Longhorn Combo Grill took me about an hour to put together. I did it by myself although they call for a helper at certain stages. It was pretty easy, no special tools needed and the instructions were clear and accurate. All the pieces fit together nicely. It’s made of heavy duty steel and weighs in at 205lbs. On that alone, I would recommend the grill. I’ll try and give an update after I’ve actually cooked something on it! Today I’m going to season the inside and hopefully fire it up and grill something for dinner tonight. I’ve never used a smoker before so this is going to be a learning experience.
